Tyler Lee Hoechlin (born September 11, 1987) is an American Actor who got his big break starring alongside Tom Hanks in the film Road to Perdition (2002) as Michael Sullivan Jr. For television he is best known for his role as Martin Brewer on 7th Heaven.

Hoechlin is currently playing Derek Hale in the new MTV series "Teen Wolf".
Hoechlin was born in Corona, California to Lori and Don Hoechlin. He began acting at the age of nine. His performance in Road to Perdition led to him getting the role of Martin Brewer in the hit show 7th Heaven in 2003. Hoechlin was nominated for a 2004 Teen Choice Award for Breakout Male Star. He was in the 2008 movie Solstice portraying Nick. He will also star in the MTV series Teen Wolf. He also starred in an episode of "Castle" in its second season. He recently starred along side Owen Wilson and Christina Applegate in the 2011 movie 'Hall Pass'.
Hoechlin is a baseball player, standing 6' (1.83 m) tall. He began playing at the age of seven and previously played infield for Arizona State University and the Battle Creek Bombers of the Northwoods League. In 2008, he played infield for the UC Irvine Anteaters. He grounded out to the pitcher in the final at-bat at the old Alex Box Stadium, as UC Irvine lost to LSU 21-7 in the Anteaters' final game of the 2008 season.
