BIOGRAPHY
David Peter S. Witts, (born 30 June 1991) is a British actor, best known for his portrayal of Joey Branning in the long-running British television soap opera, EastEnders. He made his first appearance on 22 June 2012.
The character of Joey Branning was well-received by critics, with British men's lifestyle magazine, Gay Times stating, David Witts plays Joey Branning. A quick Google on that shows the script writers are already making him take his clothes off. Bravo EastEnders script writers!", and entertainment magazine, Heat noting Witts as one of their "TV hunks", saying, "The more evil Joey Branning gets, the more we swoon." Inside Soap also added, Joey is "the very definition of a soap bad boy" due to his good looks and charisma, the fact he has been damaged by his past and his success with women. Witts won the award for 'Most Popular Newcomer' for his portrayal of Joey at the National Television Awards 2013.
